Yeah that is the bracket I discarded also! I have a bracket similar to yours. I turned the legs inward so it bolts thru the firewall using the mounting bolts for my EC2. That way the was less penetration of the firewall.

I found a shot of the LS-1 coil bracket I bought from Rock Auto a number of
years ago. After getting it assembled it quickly became apparent that it
took up way too much room under the cowling and I instead came up with a much
more compact installation...
