Thanks for that. I might mention that I have heard of seals coming loose on several reduction drives. It might be considered a "best practices" to use a physical locking device on input/output seals that are light press fit.

Aluminum expands dramatically with heat. Seals and even press fit bearings can come adrift. Positive retention is required. Bushings with oiling holes must be mechanically indexed lest they turn and shut off lubrication.
 
Seals may be pressed in place trapping a thin "O" ring along their OD. A method of retention as simple as a few screws through the bore to prevent escape, or more complex  systems may be employed.
 
Aluminum gear boxes must be cooled in some manor or press fits and seals will be lost.
 
I have coolers and pumps on my differential and transmission. Seals are retained by formed rod stock and springs, over "O" rings.
