You got it Ed, my cell phone number is 832-818-CELL (2355). It is T-Mobile so it is a bit hit or miss :-( Thanks for the consideration . Anyone in the area, please feel free to use it to contact me.
Ellington is still pretty interesting. I will have real live astronauts stop by periodically. I am still eight years old when it comes to NASA....I feel like I am a kid in a candy store. My hangar mate purchased his bright yellow long EZ
from a former space jockey just before he passed away. My hangar mate, Richard Sessions, is rebuilding his engine ( a Lyc ) as we speak. We also get a pretty large number of war birds, usually in connection with the Collins Foundation. They
use to have a B-25 stationed there, but I think they moved it to Florida. They still have a number of older jets and choppers around.
The flying Guppy is stationed here. They are building a new hangar for it and it is huge. The Guppy is a sight to see landing.
I hope your sister can make it........sorta <g>
All the best,
Chris

Thanks, Chris
Appreciate the offer - However, I am fairly certain that I am going to be on a tight schedule to get one of my sisters to/from the family reunion so she doesn't miss work. But, should that change (like she decide not to go), then I'll certainly reconsider.
How about a phone number I could contact you if the possibility of a visit occurs.
I flew into Ellingtion field back in 1959 as an Aviation Cadet - I remember they were still conducting some training up there in WWII B-25 that had been modified as Navigation trainers. Long time agon.

I know you will be on a tight schedule, but feel free to head to Llano through Houston and stop by Ellington Field (EFD ) . (yeah, this is what you get when you let folks know you will be in the same state...invites)
Yeah, likely a bit too much of a diversion, but I would love to share my project with ya . Other than, perhaps, Tracy, you are the person I would most like to check out my project, especially at this stage where so much "real" progress has been
made.
Please, do yourself and your family a favor while in Llano and check out the best, "nasty" BBQ I have had anywhere; at Coopers.
http://www.coopersbbq.com/ If I ever get flying reliably, it will be one of my Hundred dollar hamburger/bbq trips. Llano is in the Texas Hill Country. I went to school in San Marcos (also in
the Hill Country) and it reinforced my love for the region. I have not been to Llano in about two years when my buddy and I went to a Jeep Jamboree (his big hobby is off roading ) but the BBQ was gooooooood .
Uh, enjoy the DRIVE ;-)
All the best,
Chris Barber

Hi Doug,
Actually had thought about doing something similar - however, I will have to wait until I get to Louisiana and determine what the schedule really is - one of my sisters works so would be on a some-what tight time table. Yes, would be interesting to see
Marks PP 20B, but will just have to wait until later to see.

According to mapquest that is straight west of Austin...any thoughts of taking your relatives by on a slight detour to see Mark Steitle's Lancair
w/20B... :)
