Brian; (and All)
You're ahead of me, as usual. My RV-8 is still at home. I 'glassed in the air exit 'reverse scoop' today. It's in the bottom of my lower cowl. I'm just about done with the cooling system diffusers and air outlets for the oil cooler and radaitor.
I had cooling problems during my first engine runs, so I redesigned it based on successful applications I 'borrowed' from this forum's members, including a couple of guys with experience landing gliders. ;)
I need to get serious about FAA paperwork now. I'm nearly ready to take the plane to the hangar (@ Crest Airpark) and put the wings on.
I belong to EAA 326, and post periodic progress pictures there:

Scott,
Thanks for asking. I"m 99.99 percent done with the building, just have to finish up the cooling air scoop, a matter of installing about ten or 20 nutplates and making the scoop look nice, but other than that, it's pretty much done. I sent in the registration paperwork last week. Yesterday I had some of my EAA chapter out to try to find squawks for me to fix before the airworthiness inspection. I ran the engine up for about 15 minutes but couldn't get the oil or coolant temps above 13 degrees. It was around 40 degrees outside.
I'm interested any getting anyone out who wants to look at it and give it a critical eye. The plane is up at Paine Field in Everett. Where are you located again?
