Thanks for checking this on your set up. I just sent Tracy an email off line
about this. I am thinking that there must be an issue with the controller,
unless he has some other test I can do. I am out of ideas on things to check
at this point.

In any case, I could not produce the symptoms you are seeing by miswiring known good components as described.
