Lynn,
What is the purpose of the restrictor in the line from the water pump? Is the air supposed to come out of solution when the pressure drops on the back side? Looks like you would be adding an unnecessary load on the engine to add the pressure in the system???

A subject of great controversey. A restrictor. Slows outflow and raises pressure inside the block.
I use 10% antifreeze and one teaspoon of dish soap or a bottle of Water-Wetter in the coolant and a 17 pound pressure cap. Distilled water. Never boils the coolant.
It is 5/8" sharp edged hole in .062 aluminum. Welded to the oulet. Not so outlandish when you see that 2 air conditioning cores strung together with one inch (1") ID hose can cool a Mazda airplane engine.
