Kelly,
It is in the rebuild process at the moment. My first choice of
cooling design had a bad outcome. I am moving the radiator to the right
side (aka Tracy’s
RV8 radiator) and feeding it from the right nostril as well as picking up a
little air from both the left nostril and the “smiley” under the
prop. The RX7 oil cooler is at the rear and fed from a 2.5 X 12
inch duct from the “smiley” that runs under the engine. I
expect to have to add a cowl flap to let the air out. If this ever gets
completed I will let you know of the results. The “smiley” is
3.5 X 17 inches. Not really a “smiley”, looks like Greg Ward’s
belly scoop, but on the chin. Current plan has the air coming in, making
a bend through the radiator, oil cooler, and out. Previous had the air
making a 360 inside the cowl…didn’t seem to like that..:>)
I am concerned that my first choice of shirt (and health plan…president???)
will have a similar bad outcome.
