    I had planned on the FW, but really this is probably a better location. I havn't yet ordered a reg, but when I do get one to mount I'm favouring this idea.

Heh, Todd, this might be of interest to you.  I mounted my generator's 
regulator on the side of my PSRU plate's support leg.  There will be 
LOTS of airflow there, so the spot will be relatively cool.
