Actually guys, I think the wings we add to the rotor should be more like the "bird" wings like we see added to logo and pilot/aviator wings lapel and uniform brass.  It is more generic as to all sorts of flying and very recognizable to aviation types.  The Rotary rotor seems to be the perfect center mark for this type of wing.  It is also pretty dignified, recognizable with maybe a "Fly  Rotary"  printed underneath.

Also, easily transferred to various media, such as caps, patches, stickers etc.

Check out the general idea here. Easily modified for our use. http://www.uswings.com/uswcap.asp

FWIW

All the best,

We air airplane people can recognize the wings as wings.  Maybe adding a small tail section would look like an airplane  Then to make the canard people happy putting the tail in the front.  This design is cool looking.

    Ben,
    As requested.
I would make the print the same size as the actual rotor approx
180mm, top of apex to bottom rotor face. The drawing is very
accurate- to the mm anyway. The thin lines might not show up too
well. I notice in the JPG there are gaps in the lines. If you want
lines thickened-up or the wings changed in any way, just say.

        George,

Can the black box be deleted and just use a black line
drawing? Perhaps the same with the ailerons and flaps, may
make it standout as a wing. I like the drawing, what do others
think. I think everyone should chime in here. Who is Larry
that you referred to in an earlier post? Is he working on
        something for a shirt?

BTW, is anyone working on a rotary engine in an airplane, the
only recent post have been on these T Shirts. Someone has got
to have something engine related to say. I need my daily fix
        of rotary discussion.
