What do you mean by, "did all the tuning for the EC2"? Are you saying that you had a significant amount of successful run time on the engine with everything working good up til now and this was the first full power run? Or was this the first start on the engine?

I'm with Dave, step back and take a deep breath and check everything starting with the basics. Is initial engine timing correct?

And most importantly, again what Dave said - dont let the time pressure make you do something stupid. Even the best engineered installations have the potential for problems. There's a good reason for the 40 hour phase 1 test period. The best advice I could give at this point is forget about your planned move. That should have absolutlely no consideration in working through the inevitable problems that come up early in your phase 1 testing. I think I can guarantee that once this problem is behind you it wont be the last.

Gents,

I am at a total loss!

Bruce Terrentine just rebuilt my Renesis, I hooked everything up, did all the tuning for the EC2, and started the high power runs to get the one hour max throttle time before the first flight.  I'm 35 minutes into it (5 - 10 min at a time for temperature), and the engine went from 4860 static RPM at WOT to 4600.  At that time, I still had good oil pressure, fuel pressure and mixture reading was good.  I throttled back to idle and shut it down.  As I throttled back, the oil pressure went from high 60s to 36 and the mixture reading went from 8-9 bars on the EM2 to 1 bar.  After I got out of the plane, my father who was watching the run, said I had about 8 inches of flames shooting out the exhaust during the entire high power run.

I don't even know where to start, or how to fix this.

To add to the problem, I am supposed to move from Leesville, LA to Fayetteville, NC on 24 July.  I really don't want to have to pull the wings and trailer the plane.

My first call was to Tracy, but he is out of touch until the 23rd, so no help there.  Is there anyone with enough experience and time to help?  Anyone close enough to Leesville, LA to make a trip here?

Feel free to call 337-208-8053 or email me direct candtmallory@cebridge.net

I'm really desperate!
