OK Mike,
   If the tuning has been done correctly on mode 3 and 2, very little MAP table tuning is required, especially on piston engines that have no staging.  You should be able to go from high idle to WOT with only minor adjustments of the mixture control even prior to table tuning.  If this is not the case and you notice major tuning problems, send me a note prior to starting mode 1 or 9 tuning.

I was not specifically tuning, and have not started that seriously. My question was a general one about why surging happens in something like my GEO. I'm hoping to tie the trike down on Sunday and really start tuning (if the weather holds out).
