Perry Mick is running the stock Mazda engine computer with most of the sensors disabled. Not sure if he used the MAF or not.

Has anyone used an air-flow based system for these engines? They embody many of the characteristics that pushed automotive engines in the direction away from speed-density to Mass Air Flow(MAF). Just curious, as most of the calibration problems discussed would go away if MAF were the primary input.
