Subject: [FlyRotary] Another Rotary
Airplane In The Air
Hi All,
Please to announce that rotary powered Glastar
C-GSPC has finally left the ground today for a few circuits.
Left wing is a bit heavy, my EGT were different by 70 degrees at WOT,
found a couple rough spots in the MAP table that did not show up with
ground runs and a minor oil leak that I thought was fixed is back so
I guess there is a bit more tuning to do. It was 0C (32F) OAT and oil
and water never got above 185F.
Many, many thanks to everyone on
FlyRotary for the great information and
ideas shared.
Perry Casson
Great to hear the good news,
Perry.
My EGTs have been off for as long
as I've been flying including two different engines, several
different intake manifolds and two different sets of EGT
probes. I think it must be something to do with the exhaust flow as
switching probes did not change the difference which in my case will range as
much as 100F different depending on the rpm and mixture setting. I
wouldn't worry about 70F difference.
ITs great to hear new birds without
cooling problem on the first flight - ya musta done something rite!
Looking foward to more reports on flight progress
