I used the John Ammeter fuel pickup. It's mentioned in one of those collections of the rv8r.
Anyway, I riveted a 1/4" 6061 plate to the lower aft corner of the inboard tank ribs, and drilled / tapped it 3/8" npt. It is curved along the access door edge and fits snug into the corner, I think it adds more surface area for the Proseal.
I installed a 3/8" to 1/4" pipe bushing, and installed a 1/4" npt finger strainer in it. That's my suction line. No way it can twist up out of the fuel like the original VANS bent tube attached to the access door.
I return the fuel thru the access door bulkhead fitting that VANS used for suction. The return fuel fitting is pointed straight down. The vent line is as original.
I am using suction and return valves that select either tank and have a tap for an Auxilliary tank (two stock VANS fuel selector valves). I can even crossfeed.
Although I have run my engine, I have not tested my tanks and valves yet. I may opt for the stacked Andair valve and skip the Aux tank.
