Guys...
   Electric Superchargers of any significant boost are going to require several batteries to provide the wattage required. The batteries would provide a few MINUTES of boost. Good enough for drag strips.. not good enough for plane use.

The Thomas Knight electric supercharger appears the most credible by far.  He is using 3 starter motors to drive a positive displacement compressor to get 3-6 psi boost using 700 amps at 12 volts - It appears he went to three 12 volt batteries in series to get the voltage higher and lower current.  So that installation has got to weigh a ton counting the three batteries.
 
Still looks like the mechanical driven supercharger or exhaust drive turbocharger are still the most credible means of forced induction.  I had hopes for the Aeorchallenger Turbo that came out requiring no lubrication lines back a few years ago (had its own self contained lubrication), but they never had one for the rotary and it appears they have vanished from the scene.
 
Well, fun to think about a $99 supercharger that would produce 3-6 psi of boost - but, I don't see it happening.  So guess got to wait for the 16B as Dave suggested.

    No need to add an extra battery Ed,  If you are just using short
    bursts it will draw off your current battery.
