Certainly some fascinating claims, Dave.    1 psi would appear in the feasible category on the one.  The $299. price for the other which from the photo appears not to be a turbo compressor scroll, but black ABS plastic which is different from the Thorton photo of a turbo compressor scroll for $99.00.

The Thomas Knight electric supercharger appears the most credible by far.  He is using 3 starter motors to drive a positive displacement compressor to get 3-6 psi boost using 700 amps at 12 volts - It appears he went to three 12 volt batteries in series to get the voltage higher and lower current.  So that installation has got to weigh a ton counting the three batteries.

Still looks like the mechanical driven supercharger or exhaust drive turbocharger are still the most credible means of forced induction.  I had hopes for the Aeorchallenger Turbo that came out requiring no lubrication lines back a few years ago (had its own self contained lubrication), but they never had one for the rotary and it appears they have vanished from the scene.

Well, fun to think about a $99 supercharger that would produce 3-6 psi of boost - but, I don't see it happening.  So guess got to wait for the 16B as Dave suggested.

OK, here is another company that seems to be selling the same supercharger at the same price:
http://www.electricchargers.com/
at least they have an address (Tacoma, WA) and a phone number to call for further info.

Here are some video of people playing with them...

6 psi of static boost:

Here is a similar company with more info and a different product.  Specifically, they have much more realistic claims, looks to be a compact size as well.  I think this is the real deal.

Here is the report (from a different website) of a guy who put one of those on his NSX:

No need to add an extra battery Ed,  If you are just using short bursts it will draw off your current battery.

Here is a guy who tried to build his own out of a Marine blower...  did not work,  tiny little motor so probably not a fair comparison:

Finally, here is a Q and A from a guy who built his own for real racing...  won't apply to us, but he did it right (just does not say how)

specifically asked for weight which is not given.  You be da judge.
