I too have fond memories of George. We all had auto engines planned for
our planes. No one cared what type, just one big happy family. This was
long before he got his plane flying. A small group of us hashed out ideas
on making our own psru's. George and I went the direction of using
transmissions. I designed one where I could mix and match components, no
welding or machining. I completed my design, but abandoned it as too
risky. George went even simpler direction.... with good success. I was
impressed. Unfortunate that I never met him personally. Certainly agree,
a pioneer.

George flew his rotary powered Eracer into Lantana for a visit when I was working on my install.
He was kind enough to remove his cowl so I could poke around and take notes. We then drove to my house and he spent an hour or two looking over my installation . What a great guy. I unashamedly copied his sealed plenum approach to cooling a pusher, and others have copied mine. George was one of the early pioneers and will be sorely missed.
