Jim Weir of California (RST kit radios/intercoms) tried a few

back, got maybe a few dozen/hundred votes...
Maybe a proxy

Dave,
With the EAA eager to drop the "experimental" from their name I'm not
supprised that they are loosing membership. They seem to have forgotten what the
core of the membership is. there can only be so many guys with perfect P-51
restorations. (And the money to do them) Most of us are scratching to build our
kits. I always have a bitter laugh when some new "economical" Lyc is posted at
30K in Sport Aviation, or in one of the EAA e-mails. Damm it that is just beyond
the reach of many (maybe most?) people. The new glass cockpit wars are
bringing the panel prices down, if we could only do that with the mechanicals.
Getting enough of the disgruntled members together for aproxy fight
would be like hearding cats, but worthwhile none the less. I am a former EAA
Chapter VP BTW, and I hate the "aim low" attitude shown lately as
well.
