I have been told that if I reroute my oil system by tapping into the
front oil galley and eliminating the 2 - 90 deg. turns the oil makes
going to the front housing I could achieve a 10 + deg drop in oil temp.
due to higher oil flow and less friction.

Are you currently running nicely swept fittings like this:

or hard 90's like this?

It's entirely possible to see a decent change by going from hard 90's to
swept fittings. No drilling, tapping or otherwise rerouting anything.
