Well, after a couple of hours of
wire testing (buzz testing etc) I was finally able to track down my
sparkless problem. Seems that when I first started my wiring I was
short some of my expensive aviation crimp connections and I used lower
quality butt connectors. Well, one of the cheap ones did not hold the
wire in and the two white/white&black CAS wires came out, thus no
spark. I have used very few of these cheaper connectors and have
replaced most of the few I have used........hadn't made it to these
yet. Just one more thing I am happy to discover on the ground.
Since I knew little if anything
about wiring 6 months ago and now I feel pretty confortable, I am
amazed at how different the quality is on the cheaper and the the
better conectors. I now even know what to look for and have found some
much better quality ones at local hardware stores....even though the
ones on the plane all came from aviation specific vendors.
The engine still starts
inconsistantly....one time easy, then not starting at all until I hold
my tounge juuuuust right, or so it seems. It also seems to still be
running rich. Which is not suprising since I have not done anything to
it since it was not running. Now that it is running again though, I
can start to actually TUNE the beast.
Thanks for y'all's continued
support, insight and wisedom.
All the best,
Chris
