Ernest,
As Rusty reported, they make a soft aluminum conical seal that you place over the male fitting, it crushes and seals any small imperfections. I have used them and the work great.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Sealing AN fittings
I used 37 degree AN fittings on my radiators. They aren't sealing completely. The best I've been able to do is limit the leaking to a bubble every two seconds with 25psi of air pressure (pressurize the system and then dunk it in a tub of water).
Is it permissible or advisable to use some sort of nylon washer inside the fitting to get an airtight seal?
