through a 0.02 opening than you might think. As I recall the old Ross
Redrive had a restrictor of only 0.03 and that still provide sufficient oil
for the redrive. But your flow through the 0.02 would probably be on the
order of a pint a minute or there abouts. So compared to the 15 or so
GPM of oil flow - it would be insignificant.
I think an air bleed for anything in the oiling system should return
to the sump.
I had to do that to an Accusump (accumulator) system to keep it
working. I used clear nylon tubing for the vent hose and was amazed by how
much foam went flying through the tubing, that was collecting in the
Accusump.
