I see your point on the gyros, though today's machines are all in a different universe.
Easy or demanding to fly, IF you care to learn it properly and take care of your mount, there are view vehicles at all, that could be called safer than a gyro, and it would be way less fun.
Fun/safety factor is about unchallenged for the gyro.....
