I think everyone that as moved the starter just did their own mod.
I've seen a couple of pictures in the archives but it's been a while.
The only critical thing is to get the starter the correct distance from
center so that the gears engage properly. My old MM plate replaced the
rear plate on the RD1x. It moved the starter to the side, but they
were expensive and aren't available any more.

I have what I believe is an RD-1A and I would like to get another plate for it that will move the starter to the side (from the bottom) so I can gain some additional space to hang my rads (ala. Dennis Haverlah's example w/ SJ "rotary" cowling). Does Tracy sell the adapter plate or do I need to pursue one from a different vendor? Thanks for any information...
