I wonder if Tracy's reduction uses any components that rely on a heated
press fit for retention. I know if my trans cooler fails, my rear seal used
to pop out of the tail shaft housing, making a big mess. I now mechanically
retain those seals.

Lynn;
Rear seal is retained with a bolted flange. I don't think there is anything
relying on heated press fit.
I disassembled the drive after about 23 hours when I had things apart to fix
the loose through bolt that was dripping coolant into the oil, and all gears
and bearings appeared as new; so the oil temps there are apparently having
no bad effects. I'll probably check it again at around 50 hours.

The rear seal in my plate is a press fit (RD1C). It's tight, so I don't
think there is any need for heat to keep it in.
