Hi
All,
FWIW department: Since the time that Ford came
out with computerized engine controls, the connectors have been
filled with dielectric grease. Every auto parts store has the
stuff. The Ford part number is D7AZ-19A331-A It isn't
cheap, but a 3 oz. tube might very well be a lifetime supply for most of
us.
I'm only guessing, but I'd guess that a dollop of the
stuff in each connector would pretty much preclude corrosion of the
pins. I'm not running yet (test stand) but that's what I'm
doing.

OK Group I must make a comment aboout dilectric grease. This stuff works
well but be carefull with it. Ford ran into a problem, that later resulted in a
recall. The production line guys were filling up the connectors to the tank
mounted fuel pumps with the dilectric grease. The result was the ring (outside)
terminal was being forced open hydraulically. This circuit like the ignition is
a high current connection. The terminal would arc when hot which burned the
unfused power circuit to the pumps! What kind of idiot designed that is beyond
me. The resulting fires (plural) force them to do a investigation and the
culprit turned out to be the diletric grease. The problem wasn't that the grease
was bad, rather the opposite. it did it's job so well it caused a different
problem. Use the stuff in moderation and you should be fine.

PS Yes I had a Mustang with the problem. Gave it back using the lemon law
in California. Long story.
