Bob,
That is a good price - I must confess of likeing the BD4 myself.
However if you only want to spend a few bob here and there ( excuse the pun) the Vision is the way to go, for me anyway.
Surely you could afford the THAT kit on offer. We don't get to see those sorts of deals in Australia.

Hi George,
The BD-4 is kind of like that too. There are a few custom items that
are hard to get, the main one being the wing spars. Jim Bede and Team
Aviation are two current sources and there are a lot of old BD-4 kits
around that were never finished. I looked at a kit that had very
little work done on it. The whole kit was $5600 with a lot of
expensive options. If you want high performance at a bargain price,
you can't beat the BD-4.
One of my main goals was to have a fast cross country plane. Most of
the big airshows where you can show off a rotary engine are quite a
ways from here. :)

Bob,
There is a plane that you can build that will cost you 9/10's of sweet
bugger all - however it plans built.
The beauty of this plane (Vision) is that you can make parts as you can
afford them.
I guess you already have instruments, engine etc.
Worth some consideration.
I'm working on a single rotary for the Light Sport Category (Vision).
Power requirements are between 115 and 125hp.
