George do you have a web site with single rotor info?    I am just getting interested myself.  I have the raw materials for two  p ported engines not including the e shafts.   I am going to contact Richard Sohn also.  I  have not done an archive search yet, so that will be first.      Jerry

Jerry,
Tell him to consider a single rotor- with PSRU.

Perry are you still using direct drive?  What  max RPM are you or  were you using, what prop, etc.  A friend who is building a Buttercup  (Steve Whitman design) that only needs 100/125 hp.  13B with redrive  is too heavy but without a drive it is a possibility.     Jerry

I just installed a CDI system on the leading coil in my RX-7,  testing it out before possibly putting it in the airplane.

I don't have an issue with carbon plug fouling, only the dreaded  lead. Is the lead fouling an insulation effect (a lead compound) on  the electrode? If so, then I could see where a CDI system would  help punch through. However, if the plugs are fouling because the  lead puts a conductive film on the ceramic insulator, causing the  electrode to be shorted to ground, then maybe a CDI system can't  help with that?

Interesting stat:  I have never ever in hundreds of hours flooded  the rotary engine on my Long-EZ. It always starts on the first crank.
