Yep, slight angle - but shouldn't matter if the "IN" is pushing oil to the
"OUT" then the air would move right along with it and out of the cooler.

it can matter if the "OUT" is pointing down.

Depending on the cooler design you might have a compressed air cushion on
top of the oil crossflow.

That's one I hadn't figured would be an issue - and yes, my "Out" is
currently on the bottom. So, tonight I'll checkout the thermostat and put it back in (unless I can
figure a way out to block off the bypass at least for testing). I'll also
re-fabricate the oil lines so I can hookup the "In" hose to the bottom port
and the "Out" host to the top port (which is actually the real "Out"
anyway!).
