I don't know how to do this, but the best would be an award, selected by

THAT wouild be the award I would/will be after!!
It's the same like some clienets tell me "You're the best pilot ever!
Awesome, I never saw anyone else fly like this!"
Well, thanks for the flowers, but what counts really is, if a fellow
helicopter pilot that knows his stuff comments on my flying - only here I
really appreciate it, as only someone who has gone there and done it is
really qulified to judge/critique.
Anything from that guy means something...
How are people to judge something that never where there...?
What a cool concept! "The Builder's Choice Award"
It wouldn't be hard, just take some legwork the first year. Print some ballots with the categories, or provide an internet page where it could be downloaded and printed. Or someone who is there for the week passes out ballots as homebuilts arrive. Fill in N number at the top to insure 1 per homebuilt. Homebuilders always walk around to see how other's have done it anyway (at least I do). As they're walking around, they can fill in a blank with the N number of their choice for each category, then mail them in. Someone counts them and sends out badges/stickers/whatever as awards.
The powers that be will ignore it until the prestige starts showing...builders show up displaying their Builder's Choice Award more proudly than a Lindy. They'll take it over and do all the legwork from that point on.
