The numbers are real impressive, right up until you get to the price :-)  
 
As for the uses, I would think it would be better for the Lycoming crowd than the alternate engine folks, mostly due to the small capacity of the battery.   I would never consider something that small for main battery on a rotary engine, unless you had two of them (very expensive), or another alternator (heavy and complicated).   It would, however make a dandy backup battery.
 
On the other hand, my RV-8 NEEDS a light battery like that, and capacity isn't an issue, since I don't need electricity to run the engine.  It it was available right now (tested, proven, etc), I'd consider it.   More likely, it will be something I'll have to consider if the Odyssey makes the plane a bit more nose heavy than I want it.  
 
BTW, I was also amused by the RV list comments.  What do you know about getting lots of current out of a battery :-)
