Since I did not want to bother the list members with any more of my pain & suffering, I stopped my daily updates. After wasting a month with filters, capacitors, rewiring parts of the airplane, ripping out and replacing the strobe / nav-light wiring with the best (most expensive) wires etc, the net gain was 80% reduction of noise. But I can still hear some noise from about everything that can possibly make noise.
Sooo, I ripped out my radio and RST AP. Ordered a new ICOM A-200 radio from Steinair.com and new intercom FlightCom from Spruce. Wired them in 2 days and I could not believe my ears. 100% silence and beautiful audio quality. Tried turning on everything in the plane one by one. Not a sound except what I'm supposed to hear. My wife said "I have never been in an airplane with such a good reception".
Today I asked friend of mine, a HAM radio freak to come and test my winglet installed Bob Archer antenna's with his SWR equipment. He came with the "Big Guns". After all, he wrote down bunch of numbers and said that the antenna's are "excellent": One is 1:1.3 and the other is 1:1.2. I read in the Icom instructions 1:3 is exceptable and 1:1 is perfect (I think?)
The bottom line the radio and the AP I had were not filtered by the manufacturer. So there goes another month down the tubes. I count it as learning experience?
Thank you to all the builders that tried and offered to help with their advise and knowledge. When I build my next plane I'll know better :) Not a chance!
