I'd appreciate some comments on the radiator/inlet configuration as shown at Ed Klepeis' techwelding site.  You can see Ben Schneider's radiator arrangement by clicking on Custom than go down to about the middle of the pictures.  This is a James cowl with shark intake below the spinner and the radiators mounted below the engine.  I've been planning the same configuration for my RV 7 with Renesis and James cowl.  I can get the front of my radiator up and the back down so I have about a 15 degree tilt relative to the incoming air.  My question is - will the air make the 75 degree turn and flow through the fins?  If not - would turning vanes below the radiator make this configuration possible?

I've found an off-the-shelf Scirocco radiator that will fit the space.  It measures 13 in. wide X 22 in. long and 3 in thick. I'm ready to order it but now I'm having second thoughts about the air flow.

Thanks for any feedback!!

Dear Chris
If interested look at www.techwelding.com you can see a set up made for the Renesis engine.

Subject: [FlyRotary] finding a radiator

I'm looking for a radiator or evap core with overall dimensions 8.5in by 19.5 in at least 3.75 in thick.  I want in the area of 600 cubic inches of cooling for my Renesis.  Where is the best place to get this?

So far, the best I've found would be two evap cores 8.5 by 9.5 that I could mount side by side, but I would rather one unit, that way I get more cooling space and less tank space.

Thanks,

Chris
