Now, now, don't get all worked-up, Earnest. I mean this is our Capitalistic society in which the captains of industry adhere to the following 3 premises:
1. The general public doesn't know
2. If it does know, The general public doesn't care
3 If you have a monopoly - you don't care if the public knows or cares {:>)
Besides, you're smart enough to use a proven rotary with million of production units to prove the success of its design, not just a few hundred thousand made by hand {:>).

And BTW, is that crank chucked in a lathe at the Lycoming manufacturing facility? Are all cranks hand-made, or is that just the reason we call them Lycosaurus?
