If the tubes were servicing different chambers inside the muffler, so as to
split the pulses further, then, I think there would be an advantage. Possibly
even better with 4 smaller tubes
fed from different chambers, and of differing lengths. My race muffler
keeps it under 100 dB but that is not enough to live with for very long. It has
a 4" ID and is just a big steel pack looking thing. Not quiet enough to use even
earplug type radios.
