Oh, now that I've discovered the trick, she gets all the 'input' she can stand. Can you call it input when you drag it out of 'em? "What'd ya think?" "What's your opinion?" "What should I do here?" And I make a BIG deal of anything she mentions that I implement. "Yep! That there's DAWN's idea."
Spend some time and money making the plane look ‘not homemade’. It is most important that it _look_ professional for them to want to fly in it.
I think that is easier to do without adding excessive weight in an aluminum kit plane than in a plans built tube structure. You're working with fairly symmetrical flat panels vs. tubes that meet at strange angles. But, believe me when I say, "I'M TRYING!"
