I did this about 10 years ago and intend to do it again but haven't gotten around to putting the thermocouple in place.  One of the unused CHT channels on the EM2 would be ideal for this.  I'm going to just clamp a thermocouple to the gear housing but nothing wrong with doing it in-line with oil outlet.  You can't have too much (properly functioning) instrumentation.

Would the oil output of the be the best place to measure the redrive temperature? Also what should I expect to see as the normal operating range? I ordered a chip detector for the exit oil and thinking it might be a good idea to measure temps.
