I put in threads for three jacking screws (3/8"-16). I have yet to run the engine or attempt to disassemble, however.
Here is a picture. The circle is the OD of the PSRU housing. The three tapped holes are toward the outer edge. Appears to be plenty of sealing area inward of these holes. I chamfered the holes so there were no burrs or protrusions to hold the PSRU housing away from the plate surface.
We shall see how it works. I figure I can put in set screws with pipe dope if any of the holes leak oil.

This is a tecnique used on Lycs' with poor case castings, WITH SEALANT. I would suggest that if you have GOOD castings/plates the thread will do more harm than good! Modern motorcycles with good castings use nothing but sealer ALWAYS. Yes Buly it can be a bi*#h to get off. The bike cases have frequently included a couple of jacking screws in an area with plenty of seal area.
