I suspect that most of these products may be cleaners
rather than solvents despite what they are called. Anyone really
know?
You now
know as much as anyone does about these things :-) There's a heap of
advertising done to make you think one cleaner is better than another, but I've
never found one that really seems significantly better or worse, unless you
account for the smell. Hoppe's does stink, so maybe it's better
:-)
Unfortunately, of all the things I've tried, none have
just magically rinsed away the lead deposits. Even soaking and scrubbing
doesn't usually work that well for me. Hopefully, someone will list their
secret, guaranteed to work solvent, so I can buy some.
