Bill,
I used the Renesis Oil Level Switch on my custom pan. If you turn it
upside down it becomes a N.O. switch. Stock orientation is normally
closed. Since my pans is a deep wedge I placed it parallel to the oil
pickup, leveled the pan and installed the switch to go closed at the 4
quart level of the 7 quart pan. This will feed an LED. The 2 leads are
ran up through the block to the oil filler neck and come out the side on
top of the engine. For the oil pickup trace the Renesis mounting flange onto a steel plate.
I used 1/8" 4130 and modified an older rotary pickup tube using the
mazda strainer and some 4130 tube. Parts where braised together. You may
be able to just make a spacer and put it between the stock pickup tube
and the Renesis. Moroso also has a kit that might work. I think it would
have been easier.

have to make the mounting flange.

Subject: [FlyRotary] 13B and Renesis oil pans
Looks like the 2nd gen pan can be used with Fred's plate to attach to
the Renesis. Three holes will have to be tapped for 6MM helicoils for a
bolt up. Weld up the three mount holes or only the center one, and fill
the holes in Freds plate with JB Weld.
What about the electrical connections. Does anyone know what the items
are in the pan? Oil level?, temp?. Can the Renesis items be adapted to
the 13B?
The oil pickup for the two seem to be slightly off on the bolt hole
distance where it attaches to the block. Something will have to be done
to reach the bottom of either pan because of the 1/2 inch of Fred's
plate. Any ideas??
Tracy adapted the Renesis to his plane. Anyone know what he did
reguards the oil pan?? Tracy??
