What's this flight plan stuff? Didn't tell 'em
nothing; was vfr, squawking 1200, mode c, didn't usually request any
following and didn't really worry about it. After all, I'm sure I was just
checking equipment and maintaining vfr conditions, even on a severe clear day.
The only time I ever remember even being asked about it was being asked to
restrict climb for traffic where I had asked for the proper odd/even half to
start with; though I was then cleared to continue on up by time I reached
restriction.(Think that was out of Memphis, not sure; but, there were probably
more times, just don't recall.) And, I am sure I was going from one odd or
even half thousand to another trying to find best winds aloft as descending ,or
something like that if I had of been asked. Like I say, just didn't worry about
those things too much, maybe we were just able to be a whole lot more free in
those days.

Sounds cool guys. The only question I have is what altitude did you tell
center you would be at when filing your flight plan? You know this kind of
blows the old first half even thousands... etc. for vfr flight
rules.
