I have two short pieces of stainless braid reinforced teflon lines in dash 12 for suction to the scavenge sections. Those two pull all of the spent oil and a bunch of air from the sump.
 
For the run from the tank to the pressure pump suction side, I have a piece of 1 1/4" electrical conduit. So suction collapse is not a factor.
 
I would not trust the blue stuff for suction unless it is a very short run or has a spring installed in it.
