Scott (SkySmith) is the BEST!  He really baled me out when Avemco screwed me over on the RV-3.   He just seems to be the only agent I've found that will really try to get you insurance.  Sadly, he's still at the mercy of the underwriter, and their rules don't always make sense to us. 

I've spoken with him several times over the last week, and know that I could insure the single rotor engine in a number of planes, just not the Kolb, since AIG doesn't write policy's on Kolbs.  He's tried, but they won't budge.  I guess I wouldn't be surprised to find that they have extra requirements on other aircraft as well, but if anyone can help you with the policy, it's Scott.

That’s about all I can figure out to do (go elsewhere).  That works as long as there is somewhere else to go.  I agree that Scott was great to work with and really helpful in getting a builder’s risk policy.  I’m just trying to figure out what I’m going to do a year from now.
