. But there are VERY REAL PROBLEMS and all the testing you see is paid
for by one or another states corn council. I would love to have available a
fuel alternate and a bio-friendly one as well, but read more into what is not
being said. Inquire about the mileage on one of the STC aircraft. Better yet
pull up one of the STC's and check what they had to do to get the plane to run
well on alcohol. It won't be as simple as you think.

Bill, there are a number of RV's(as in airplane) powered by corn fuel. I
spent the night with a guy in SD on the way back from Alaska who has both an
RV3 and 6 that he has been running a number of years with no problems that I
am aware of. There is an RV3 acro team of 4 ships that has been performing at
Oshkosh for years. These are all lycoming powered airplanes. I think the
BTU/pound comparison is not as bad as the BTU/gal. Just need more volume of
tank.
Not sure there is a big saving of petrol chemicals when the total balance
is worked out.
