I spent the night with a guy in SD on the way back from Alaska who has both an RV3 and 6 that he has been running a number of years with no problems that I am aware of. There is an RV3 acro team of 4 ships that has been performing at Oshkosh for years. These are all lycoming powered airplanes. I think the BTU/pound comparison is not as bad as the BTU/gal. Just need more volume of tank.
