I must not understand something, why are you putting a solenoid on the
turbo feed line? It seems like a good way to ruin a turbo.

Tim, I am putting the solenoid there to be used in the event of another turbine failure (John Slade had two and I had one - all the same).  In all cases, it would have been possible to fly the aircraft indefinitely were it not for the loss of oil out the exhaust.
 
The solenoid valve will be activated only if the turbo is already busted.  The switch will be one of those with a protected switch - will probably look kinda cool on the panel.  :-)
