Yes, I have used a larger TB on one of my intakes.  I found that sudden opening of the TB caused the engine to temporarily "bog" - it would catch after a moment when the system caught up - but, I just did not like that.  I did not find any RPM increase using the larger TB, so I switched back to the 65mm Mustang TB.

Ed, were you the one that said you tried a larger TB at one time, and didn't like it?  I seem to recall that, but can't find the message.  I did find one that said you're using the 65mm TB now.
 
Is the preferred mustang TB the 86-93 5.0L?  Does it have a MAP port on it?  I'd still like to have overall measurements on it, if someone has a 70mm laying around.
