My engine
certainly stops when I turn off the "EC-2" switch, but this all depends on how
you wired power to your system. In my system, I have one switch
that powers the EC-2, injectors, and ignition coils. Actually, it's a
double pole switch wired in parallel so I don't have to depend on any
single contact of the switch.
If you run one
power feed to the EC-2, a second to the injectors, and a third to the
ignition coils, then you're right, your engine won't stop if you turn
off the EC-2 power. Of course you'd also lose points for not
following the schematic that Tracy includes with the EC-2, which shows one
power feed for both the injectors and EC-2
:-)
I still don't
think it's going to hurt if the coils fire when there's no fuel to burn, so
turning off just the injectors is probably fine. Of course the safest
thing to do would be to do your glide test at idle. I personally
think the results would be close enough.
Cheers,
Rusty (off to
check the oil leak once again, not that it matters, because if it leaks, I'm
going to let it keep leaking)
