Finally, if you want to make sure, I'd just turn off the EC-2, and leave the pump and injectors on. 

This doesn’t work because of some internal feed in the EC2.  With the injectors on the engine will continue to fire with the EC2 off.  (Discussed by Ed and I a week or so ago, and confirmed by Tracy)
