When I tried to start the engine late yesterday on a freshly
charged battery, no fire in hole, tried starting fluid because engine has set
for a week and had to do this at LAL after a week at SNF. Engine will go back to
Bruce probably in July to fiqure out why there is only 75 psi cranking
compression. While cranking, the rpm display on the EM2 was constantly flashing
0 and NOP! Anyone have a hint what that is trying to tell me??

Bernie,
First, congrats on
getting your medical back. (old guy joke deleted
<g>)
NOP means not operating
or something to that effect. I "think" it always says that until the
engine cranks.
-As Ed asked, did you
get any sign of fire even with the starting fluid? If not, that should
rule out any fuel pump issues.
-Are the results the same if you try
controller B?
-Are you sure you don't have the injector
disable switches off? I've done that to myself a couple times.
Still, you would think starting fluid would fire, though the engine wouldn't
keep running. It's possible that the EC-2 is smart enough to know that you
have both injector sets off, so it wouldn't bother trying to fire the plugs
either.
-If you're getting any firing, the coils are
probably OK. If not, then you might want to check to make sure they have
power.
-Also if no firing, make sure the EC-2 has
power. For heaven sakes, if it blew a fuse, don't admit it :-)
If it's not handy to get a meter on the EC-2 circuit, you could also use the
EM-2 to read the MAP table on the EC-2. If it can read it, then the EC-2
has power.
Good luck!
Rusty
PS- I nominate Ed as the Tracy substitute
:-)
